Individualities reveal satisfaction with speech of the President and Pope Benedict XVI

 

Luanda - The archbishop of the Lubango, Dom Zacarias Camuenho, revealed, last March 20th, in Luanda, to be satisfied with the speech of the Chief of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, at the Presidential Palace, in which he mentioned the role of the church in the education of the Angolan families.

The prelate spoke at the exit of the Presidential Palace where the Chief of Angolan State received last March 20th, the Pope Benedict XVI, during his visit to Angola.

“We are satisfied with the reconnaissance from the Pope relatively to our work in the evangelization and we are willing to do each time more and better”, said, in a allusion to the intervention of the Pope.

He emphasized that the Catholics have the challenge to do each time more and better in favour of the formation of a new men.

In his turn, the President of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, considered that the visit of Pope Benedict XVI came to strengthen the faith and magnify the feelings of brotherhood and solidarity among the Angolans.

The Minister of Transports, Augusto Tomás, said, that the visit of Pope Benedict XVI renews the faith and hope in the future, and exalted the role of all in the construction of a better Angola.

Augusto Tomás underlined that without love for others, it will not be possible to build an Angola in peace, steady and that is synonymous of progress, well-being, friendship, growth and belief in the hope of a better future for the Angolans.

The minister of Education, António Burity da Silva, said to exist a healthy cooperation with the Catholic Church that contributes to the progress of the citizens.

The Family and Women Promotion minister, Genoveva Lino, pointed out that being the family the first social institution; it has a basic role to perform.

“We have to give power to families so that they are the educators of the individual and can infuse in them civic and moral values”, she defended.

The Minister of Justice, Guilhermina Silver, affirmed that the Angolans must consider themselves blessed for receiving, for the second time, the visit of a Pope.

According to the governor, Angolans can consider themselves blessed, because in 33 years of independence Angola had the visit of two Popes.

“The visit of Benedict XVI is of utmost importance for the catholics, for they will have the chance to see the Holy Father blessing a martyrized Angola in reconstruction… “- he advanced.

For the Minister of Science and Technology, Maria Cândida Teixeira, the Angolan society waits that the Sovereign Pontiff spills his blessing on the Angolans to calm the spirits.

The Minister of the Environment, Fátima Jardim, expects that the visit of Pope Benedict XVI serves for the reinforcement of the pacification process, national reconciliation and reinforcement of the national unity, in order to be possible to build a happy and safe future for all.

“As a woman I value immensely His Holiness visit because it brings also a global message that women are all over the world spreading: the appeal to fight violence, to the constitution of structuralized families and a country that around peace pretends the reconciliation of all the Angolans.” - referred.

According to Fátima Jardim, Angola has a process of national reconciliation that is an example to the world; therefore it is necessary to demonstrate the fact that “we are well with ourselves, with interior peace, to work better and to build a world of love.

The State Secretary for Agricultural Development, Filomena Delgado affirmed that Angola is at the moment well positioned at the Nations Council level and it is necessary that the citizens, mainly the leaders, who are the public servants, are also with clean heart and minds.

It is necessary that the leaders strengthen their faith in direction of fulfilling their tasks with ethics and virtue so that it is possible also through their actions to be the transmitters of those who believed in the faith and make the world reach peace through a worthy behaviour.

 

The Minister of Planning, Ana Dias Lourenço, said she believes that Pope Benedict XVI visit to Angola symbolizes the reinforcement to the harmony and consolidation of peace in the country.

Ana Dias Lourenço added still that the visit of the Holy Father to Angola mobilized the State, citizens and politicians, therefore the necessity for the Angolans to join themselves to the process of national reconciliation.  

The Planning Minister affirmed that the visit of Sovereign Pontiff is welcome because it is a blessing for the whole country.
  
“We must thank God so that everything runs well in Angola, that there is harmony, peace and reconciliation between the Angolans” said.

To Fátima Viegas, National director for Religious Subjects from the Ministry of Culture, the speeches of the two personalities, that had a social penchant, lead all the Angolans to reflect on the value of the formation of men for the development of the country.
